"Delicious and savory fresh foods with an Italian touch"

We have been dining at Vinny's since it first became Vinny's, and are
delighted to find that Julie is carrying on the Vinny's tradition of
delicious and savory fresh foods with an Italian touch. I loved my prawn
scampi with capers, butter and white wine, and my husband loved his capilini
Mediterranean. We don't get to Friday Harbor as often as we used to, but
won't come again without stopping for dinner at Vinny's.

We had a great experience at Vinny's. My wife and I both ordered pasta dishes, and we both really liked our food. The service was also excellent -- but not in a smarmy kind of way. We'll definitely return.

This restaurant was fantastic! The hostess was so friendly, even when we accidentally assumed her to be our waitress. The pasta pomodoro was soo good and the endless bread couldn't have been better. The Wescott Bay Pasta really showed just how good local food can be. I recommend it to anyone searching for Italian!

The Scene
Lights droop as if strung from the branches of a tree, creating a breezy, romantic air conducive to dining in intimate twos and friendly fours. Ask for a window seat and watch the ferries and storms move over the bay. Servers are young and engaging and offer excellent suggestions from a menu they've clearly sampled extensively.
The Food
The kitchen's best recipe--a sweet-savory toss of pine nuts, raisins, lemon and garlic in olive oil--shows up in several guises. Whether it's the flash-fried calamari or the red-hot pasta "from hell," the recipe is a success. A perfectly grilled portobello mushroom melting into goat cheese readies the tongue for the sort of baked ziti you could eat all night long.

We arrived early on a Friday (about 5:00 PM) with no reservation and were seated immediately. Our server was classy, warm, and attentive. Everything we ordered was outstanding, but the Caprese salad was exceptional. I won't give away the secret, but the presentation was a truly delightful and beautiful surprise! My husband and I will go back to Vinny's every time we visit Friday Harbor.

"The most tender and wonderfully sauced calamari we've had in ages."

What a nice surprise for us! In all the years we've either boated to or visited Friday Harbor we were very pleased. Becky Day rocked the evening with the most tender and wonderfully sauced calamari we've had in ages (hear that, Seattle??) with pine nuts, currants and tomato, a couple of beautiful seafood fettucini and wine magically pulled from nowhere. We had a great time! We're wondering if we're going there again tonight.
